marisa babb-wetherell, pt, dpt

Physical Therapist

Dr. Marisa is a graduate of the Doctor of Physical Therapy at Springfield College. Her first love is dance, fueling a passion for movement and for wellness through movement. Coming from a family of teachers, Dr. Marisa also has a passion for education and lifelong learning, whether it is teaching her patients, mentoring other physical therapists, developing resources for patient care, teaching dance classes, or participating in professional development.

Dr. Marisa has practiced for several years as a dance medicine specialist. Through the world of Pilates-based rehab Dr. Marisa started learning more about the pelvic floor and changes to the musculoskeletal system during pregnancy. As she learned more about movement and wellness during pregnancy and postpartum, she started to realize the gaps in our current healthcare system for perinatal care. She was eager to learn more and deliver better care and knowledge to patients to empower those navigating the pregnant and postpartum journey.

As a new mom, Dr. Marisa started making discoveries about collaborative and multidisciplinary care for infants. She has a growing passion for supporting and caring for parents and babies through pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and the first year of baby’s life.

Dr. Marisa has experience treating a variety of patients and holds a Certificate of Advanced Practice in Physical Therapy in Obstetric Health through the Academy of Pelvic Health. She is also certified in Progressing Ballet Technique and is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
